At 2pm the captain greets you at our agreed Paris meeting point, hotel, station or airport arrivals lounge for a private transfer to the Randle waiting in the picturesque Burgundy village of Chevroches. Enjoy a Champagne welcome aboard, meet the crew and settle in.
Before dinner enjoy an evening walk in the nearby historic town of Clamecy nestled in the rolling landscape of the Nievre from where the Nivernais Canal gets its name. Stroll through the meandering cobbled streets with ornate timbered houses to the magnificent 16c church St Martin. Clamecy was also the seat of the bishop of Bethlehem for 600 years before the revolution.

Chef Gael arrives with fresh croissants and prepares a delicious continental breakfast as we commence our cruise descending onto the river Yonne, past limestone cliffs and the 14c fortified farm Chartreuse-de-Bassville. After stopping for lunch we continue to our destination of the day, the canal side village of Lucy-sur-Yonne. Visit the 11c church with restored stained glass windows and nearby mill pond.
Our guided afternoon tour takes us to Vézelay, an UNESCO listed world heritage site and fortified town with Romanesque Basilica containing the relic of Mary Magdalene. Stroll the picturesque village with many boutiques, art galleries, cafés, and restaurants.

Continuing along the meandering canal as we pass hilltop villages and the magnificent white cliffs of Rochers-du-Saussois, arriving after lunch at the riverside village Mailly-la-Ville for our evening mooring.
Take an Afternoon guided tour to the caves of the Grottes-de-Arcy. A fascinating cave system with stalactites, crystal formations and over 200 amazing 28,000 year old Palaeolithic cave paintings representing Bears, Rhino, and Mammoth.
Enjoy an evening at the magnificent 12th century moated chateau with peacocks and centuries old trees.
Chef Franco Bowanee’s cuisine is a poem, a surprise for the eyes as well as healthy and delicious. It has a harmonious mix of regional Bourgogne products – some directly from the Château’s vegetable garden with its 140 varieties of fruit, vegetables and spices from Mauritius.
Wednesday is morning market day at the picturesque village of Noyers-sur-Serein. A medieval fortified village with ornate 15c timber framed buildings in an oxbow river setting, it is listed as one of the 159 prettiest villages in France, "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France".
Home to many artists, a potter, a jeweller, and a leather worker. Stroll the cobbled streets and market stalls, buy a little something for friends back home. After a delicious lunch aboard the Randle makes an afternoon cruise along the canal and river Yonne to the canal side village of Accolay.

A morning cruise takes us along the Yonne valley with vineyards appearing on the hillsides above. After a gourmet lunch aboard we stop at Vincelles on a picturesque riverside mooring. Enjoy an private tour to the wine villages of Irancy, Chitry, or Chablis.
Tour the famous Grand-Cru vineyards of Chablis or take a private tasting to one of the family vineyards in the surrounding villages.
