Before dinner enjoy an evening walk in the nearby historic town of Clamecy nestled in the rolling landscape of the Nievre from where the Nivernais Canal gets its name. Stroll through the meandering cobbled streets with ornate timbered houses to the magnificent 16c church St Martin. Clamecy was also the seat of the bishop of Bethlehem for 600 years before the revolution.
Chef Denis Guenot prepares revisited regional cuisine, young, inventive, and adapted to the rhythm of the seasons. Enjoy accompanied by excellent Burgundy wines.

Continuing to our destination of the day, the canal side village of Lucy-sur-Yonne. Visit the 11c church with restored stained-glass windows and nearby mill pond.
Our guided afternoon tour takes us to Vézelay, an UNESCO world heritage site and medieval fortified town with Romanesque Basilica housing a relic of Mary Magdalene. Stroll the picturesque village with it's many boutiques, art galleries and cafés.
Enjoy an evening dining in Vézelay at the cosy bistro style S Y La Terrace, right at the foot of the magnificent Basilica Mary Magdalene of Vézelay.
Continuing along the meandering canal as we pass hilltop villages and the magnificent white cliffs of Rochers-du-Saussois, arriving after lunch at the riverside village Mailly-la-Ville for our evening mooring.
