Sunday - Paris Rendezvous

At 2pm we rendezvous at your preferred Paris hotel or airport arrivals lounge for a private transfer to the Randle waiting in the picturesque Burgundy village of Chevroches. Enjoy a Champagne welcome aboard, meet the crew and settle in.  

Champagne Welcome Aboard

Before dinner enjoy an evening walk in the nearby historic town of Clamecy nestled in the rolling landscape of the Nievre from where the Nivernais Canal gets its name. Stroll through the meandering cobbled streets with ornate timbered houses to the magnificent 16c church St Martin. Clamecy was also the seat of the bishop of Bethlehem for 600 years before the revolution. 

Evening dining at Hostellerie de la poste.

Chef Denis Guenot prepares revisited regional cuisine, young, inventive, and adapted to the rhythm of the seasons. Enjoy accompanied by excellent Burgundy wines.

We also offer transfers from Dijon and Beaune and tailor our itineraries to your preferences.

Monday - Tour Vézelay 

Chef Gael arrives with fresh croissants and prepares a delicious French breakfast as we commence our cruise descending onto the river Yonne, past limestone cliffs and the 14c fortified farm Chartreuse-de-Bassville.

Terrine of Roasted Summer Vegetables with a Tomato & Basil Salsa, Warm Puy lentil salad with walnuts and shallots, Mixed salad leaves with a balsamic vinaigrette, Plateau de Fromages

Vézelay La Croix Montjoie "Voluptueuse"

Continuing to our destination of the day, the canal side village of Lucy-sur-Yonne. Visit the 11c church with restored stained-glass windows and nearby mill pond.

Vézelay World Heritage Site Tour.

Our guided afternoon tour takes us to Vézelay, an UNESCO world heritage site and medieval fortified town with Romanesque Basilica housing a relic of Mary Magdalene. Stroll the picturesque village with it's many boutiques, art galleries and cafés.

Evening dining

Enjoy an evening dining in Vézelay at the cosy bistro style S Y La Terrace, right at the foot of the magnificent Basilica Mary Magdalene of Vézelay.

Tuesday - Cave Paintings

Continuing along the meandering canal as we pass hilltop villages and the magnificent white cliffs of Rochers-du-Saussois, arriving after lunch at the riverside village Mailly-la-Ville for our evening mooring.

Givry Premier-Cru from the Côte Chalonnaise

Afternoon cruise to the riverside village of Mailly-la-Ville where we moor for the evening.

Palaeolithic Cave Paintings 

Take an Afternoon guided tour to the caves of the Grottes d'Arcy-sur-Cure. A fascinating cave system with stalactites, crystal formations and over 200 amazing 28,000 year old Palaeolithic cave paintings representing Bears, Rhino, and Mammoth.

Wednesday is morning market day at the picturesque village of Noyers-sur-Serein, a medieval fortified village in an oxbow river setting listed as one the 156 "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France".

Afternoon Canal Cruise 

Followed by an afternoon cruise along the canal and river Yonne to the pretty canal side village of Accolay.

Thursday - Vineyard Tour 

A morning cruise takes us along the Yonne valley with vineyards appearing on the hillsides above.

Caramalised Red Onion Tart, Red cabbage salad with roquefort & walnuts, Marinated Aubergines with peppers, capers & olives, Plateau de Fromages.

Chablis premier-cru from the nearby vineyards

After lunch we continue to the riverside village of Vincelles.

Afternoon Grand-Cru Vineyard Tour

Tour the famous Grand-Cru vineyards of Chablis or take a private tasting to one of the family vineyards in the surrounding villages.

After lunch we continue to our destination, the historic town of Auxerre, prosperous since Roman times, the birthplace of Saint Germain.

A city of Art & History Auxerre is dominated by the 11-16c cathedral St Étienne overlooking the river. Bustling and modern it maintains its charming 15c timber framed buildings and cobbled streets, take our private tour to the cathedral and historic centre or self guide as you wish.

Chef Takayuki Nagayoshi, previously at the Hotel Georges V, Paris, 3* Michelin under the tutelage of Christian Le Squer, welcomes you to his diminutive restaurant where, like the pretty woodland flower after which it is named, the cuisine is delicate fresh and precise, with harmonious and clear marriages of flavours and textures. 

Saturday - Sad Farewell 

After a delicious breakfast aboard we bid you au revoir for your private transfer to your Paris hotel, station, or airport departure lounge.
